The 2013 Toyota Prius Three Persona Series Special Edition builds upon the already popular and proven Prius formula by adding a touch of style and exclusivity. Based on the Prius Three trim, the Persona Series enhances its appeal with unique cosmetic upgrades while maintaining the same hybrid efficiency and functionality that has made the Prius a standout in the compact hybrid segment. It’s aimed at drivers who appreciate the Prius’ practicality and fuel savings but want a bit more personality in the design.
At the heart of the 2013 Prius Persona Series is Toyota’s Hybrid Synergy Drive system, which pairs a 1.8-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 134 horsepower. Power is delivered through a continuously variable transmission (CVT), offering seamless acceleration and excellent fuel efficiency. The EPA estimates for this model are impressive, coming in at around 51 mpg in the city and 48 mpg on the highway. While it’s not designed for spirited performance, the drivetrain is refined and quiet, making the Prius a calm and efficient daily driver.
The Persona Series adds visual flair to the Prius’ functional design. This special edition features 17-inch alloy wheels with a premium dark finish, a unique exterior color option (Black Cherry Pearl, exclusive to this edition), and color-keyed side mirrors with integrated turn signals. These subtle upgrades give the Persona Series a more upscale, customized look without altering the car’s aerodynamically optimized body shape.
Inside, the cabin benefits from tasteful enhancements that set it apart from the standard Prius Three. The Persona Series includes exclusive black SofTex-trimmed seats with dark red stitching, offering a leather-like feel that’s also eco-friendly and easier to clean. The dark metallic trim pieces throughout the interior contribute to a more premium ambiance. Passenger space remains generous for a compact car, with excellent headroom and legroom in both rows, and the hatchback design ensures a roomy cargo area that expands significantly when the rear seats are folded.
Tech-wise, the Prius Three trim level – and therefore the Persona Series – is well-equipped. Standard features include a 6.1-inch touchscreen interface, a navigation system, Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, voice recognition, and a six-speaker audio system. Toyota’s Smart Key system with push-button start and a backup camera are also standard, providing convenience and safety.
The 2013 Prius continues to be a strong performer in safety as well, with standard stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes, front-seat side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, and front knee airbags. It also received high scores in crash safety tests, making it a smart and secure choice for eco-conscious buyers.
In summary, the 2013 Toyota Prius Three Persona Series is a compelling blend of efficiency, practicality, and distinctive style. It retains everything that makes the Prius a fuel economy leader while giving drivers an option that stands out visually and offers a touch of added sophistication.

RECALL NOTICE
What is a recall:
A safety recall involving a motor vehicle or an item of motor vehicle equipment can be independently conducted by a manufacturer or ordered by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In either case, the manufacturer must file a public report describing the safety-related defect or noncompliance with a Federal motor vehicle safety standard, the involved vehicle/equipment population, the major events that resulted in the recall determination, a description of the remedy, and a schedule for the recall. NHTSA monitors each safety recall to ensure the manufacturers provide owners safe, free, and effective remedies according to the Safety Act and Federal regulations. Manufacturers are obligated to attempt to notify owners of recalled products. For vehicles, that means manufacturers merge their own records of vehicle purchasers with current state vehicle registration information. For equipment, where state registration records do not exist, manufacturers are obligated to notify their distribution chain and known purchasers of the recalled equipment. However, even if you do not receive a notification, if your vehicle, child restraint, or other item of equipment is involved in a safety recall, the manufacturer is obligated to provide a free remedy.
